Dolls Dress Tutorial

I made a doll for Elfin's birthday. Its not one of my best so I wanted to make some cool clothing to compensate. I decided to make a reversible frilly dress.
This is the pattern, which I cut out in two different materials back to back.
I sewed the edges of the bottom, longest rectangle together along three edges and attached the unsewn edge to the top of the shorter rectangle, taking tucks in it to make its length fit.
Then with the frill on the inside I sewed the next rectangle on three sides and turned it inside out to get my bottom frill.
Finally I sewed the bodice round the neck and arms. I then stitched the skirt into the bodice taking tucks as I went to make it fit. And I sewed a ribbon onto the plain cloth to add a feature and make a fastener.
And here is what the final dress looked like in butterfly ....
And Plain.
I did a guest post on Mamapeapod giving a tutorial on how to make the actual doll here.

I'm sharing this on
