Home made gnome counting game

(Goblin is 25 months)
Today I finally finished the gnome counting game I've been making for Goblin. Even though he wasn't feeling well today he found enough energy to play with it as soon as I'd put the top on.
The game consists of five needle felt gnomes numbered 1 - 5.
And the idea is for Goblin to put them into a hole in the top of a flower pot in order. Obviously he can't do that yet as he doesn't recognise numbers and doesn't know the sequence. For the time being he just enjoyed posting them through the hole in the crochet top.
He did this for quite a while. Each time he'd finished popping them all into the flowerpot I'd pop the crochet top off (I weaved elastic round the edge so it comes off easily), and I'd tip the gnomes back out. When Goblin decided he'd had enough he took the pot and put it back on his shelves.
This is something he learnt at nursery and I love it.

I'm going to link this post to a few link up parties. It was getting a bit busy adding lots of buttons to the bottom of each post so I have put all the buttons of the link parties I frequent on a separate page here: http://tamingthegoblin.blogspot.com/p/link-up-parties.html. If you have time please go check out some of the great ideas others have posted on these blog link ups.
